Anatomium P2 Set

The P2-Set 3D Anatomy Redux :                                 Fast Animation in Fine Resolution

This is a very detailed digital 3d anatomy collection, it is however specially designed to be less complex than the P1 series - rather low in price and still satisfying in detail, the reduction rate of about 55 % being just short of quality loss, it has about half the P1 object count, thus being less complex, less weighty - while the textures stay the same.

You will save time with this set losing little precision, however several of the smaller details will be gone. The P2 is suited for use inside i-applications as well as in typical animation software like 3dsMax, Maya, Lightwave, Cinema 4D or Blender, it is available in other formats, too - the most frequently used exchange format being FBX.

The P2 is a quality by-product of the P1's creative work and typical of our diversity efforts as well. Both male and female variants are included with most parts of the human organism. Two outer body skin figures are also included (male and female), mainly to enable convincing transparency imaging. As you can see, everything is used a bit more sparingly as with the P1-Set - however the P1 may sometimes just be too colossal.

Medical Visualization/Demonstration/Animation can be organized without problem: skeleton, muscles, organs, ligaments, cardiovascular, nerves, lymph... this is all part of the Collection. The digital anatomy is split into seven main parts which you can load one after the other and blend together or use them one at a time, there is a very sensible hierarchy (depending somewhat on import format) within the part files which enables simple orientation and so every object can be found under itÝs correct name, as an individual object. Everything is at the right place and fits, hierarchically within the object list and/or visually in the user interface of your 3d software.

Comparison of products-pic

In a classic 3d animation you will find the P2 3d anatomy set a great help or even exactly what you were looking for, you may however want to tune parts to your taste or change their color and reflection, play with lighting and special effects to get the best results. It is also interesting to use parts of the P1 and P2 together which can be sensible for the perfect balance between Quality and Speed in a long Animation - P1 Owners have access to all the P2 parts and P1 parts can be made available by Support, for P2 Users in need. The P2 can be tailored "F.I.T." like the P1 - that means we will do our best to help you get your job done, having a lot of experience in that art.

Available for direct download in formats 3dsMax, Maya, .fbx, Wavefront .obj , compatible with Softimage XSI, Cinema 4D, Lightwave, more - now even partially useful in several CAD applications. (Edited by Jack Longchamps)

Some more information for really interested folks, about the P2 - the simplification "redux" process was used individually for different objects in 3dsMax which turns out reliable results and refits the uv coordinates of the textures, so the P2 can use P1 textures - if in doubt, the P1 will render a smoother for certain parts. This again means the "anatomy complete" collection Anatomium P2 is basically the best budget deal we can offer to animators who just want to stock some anatomy - upgrades are never a problem with us anyway.

Grapevine and not entirely serious - we got worried about our Facebook Friends - our work interests many people whose lifes have nothing to do with any anatomy but their own and their partners) who after all will mostly never benefit from our remarkable achievements on Facebook in 2012. We wanted to make visiting our sites more worthwhile for them and added some more free stuff that a computer-savvy person might want to have and use, starting with some 3d model downloads (all our copyrights - cars, characters, miltary, architecture - we inherited a model bank and now we are distributing it. You still need a program for these models, but Sketchup MIGHT just do.

For the Anatomy (at least P1 and P2) Sketchup is not exactly what we would propose - Blender or maybe get the momentarily best 3d software regarding price and power ratio : that software ist called Lightwave and one of the most venerable 3d animation and modeling applications of them all, having been first created and succesfully used by thousands on the Commodore Amiga in the late 1980s... Lightwave is still around and going strong, it is a brilliant program and one of the few who are capable of handling complex 3d collections whithout a hiccup - and 3d anatomy is among the most complex types of 3d data around.

So, while it is not all that expensive to get into 3d human anatomy and animating it with Anatomium sets, it does take a lot of motivation and dedication - it is best if you earn mony doing animations for ads and TV use or if you need to tackle a scientific task and visualize something to win a project, if you work in computer forensics and want to "prove" something to a jury impressively and convincingly - we have customers from all these industries and they like what we do... so if you have motivation rather than mere interest - then welcome to the club !
